Two of a Kind
In the deep desert near the US-Mexico border, Black journalist Philip Freeman is captured while spying on a KKK rally. He is interrogated by Klan leader Eugene Buckley, but before any harm can come to him, the two are suddenly beamed into space by aliens. Six months later, Philip and Eugene return to the desert through an intergalactic portal, taking enemy fire from alien pursuers. They work together seamlessly to hold off their foes before closing the wormhole. On their way back to civilization, they stop at a roadside restaurant for food. While dining, they discover that a U-Haul truck in the parking lot contains migrants being sex trafficked by smugglers. Philip and Eugene’s racial and political differences come to a head as they debate whether or not to free the captives. Eventually, they subdue the smugglers and liberate the migrants—though they never settle their differences of opinion.
