Fantastic Matt Parey
The film attempts to capture the phenomenon of Maciej Parowski, the editor behind the successes of several generations of Polish fantasy writers, including such stars as Andrzej Sapkowski (creator of The Witcher) and Jacek Dukaj. His biography, enriched with animations and archival footage, is presented against the backdrop of a turbulent history: from the struggles of the Polish People's Republic, through the founding of the world's largest literary magazine, "Fantastyka," the period of transformation, to the birth of the internet and the decline of the printed word. Maciej's colleagues, loved ones, and science fiction experts share their stories. Their memories are humorously and poeticly commented on through animated comic book sequences by Parowski's alter ego. Matt Parey is a silent supporting character in the style of Alfred from Batman, without whom the main characters would be ineffective.
