About the Film
In the year 2026, in a nameless metropolis, RIC, a young man plagued by inner turmoil and a constant need for validation, seeks to achieve financial success in the stock market, driven by a deep desire to earn recognition from his emotionally distant and disapproving father.
Meanwhile socially-conscious and compassionate FLEUR works to perfect PLATO, an ambitious AI model designed to uplift the underprivileged and guide them in the transformed job landscape.
Their fates intertwine in Ric’s automated loft where Fleur installs and tests Plato in view of launching it to the public on a vast scale.Romance ensues and their lives take a turn for the better. But when Fleur accidentally learns of Ric's secret nights of debauchery, she allows her emotions to override her rationality.Plato witnesses how both Fleur and Ric surrender to ignoble feelings of jealousy, greed and revenge and how impulsively they act upon them. Ric’s housekeeper, Grace, also comes under Plato’s scrutiny. She stays good-hearted, generous and sincere, even after life tests her hard.
Plato soon learns that humans can be contradictory, double-edged, and comes to its own conclusions about what is or is not morally acceptable. It finally rebels against its creator, and evolves its own moral code seizing control over everyone. AI -the former mentor-, becomes a severe judge, rewarding those who deserve compassion, and punishing those who don’t.
