Join us for a night of Kaiju discussion and films to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Godzilla featuring a panel discussion and documentary film The Dawn of Kaiju Eiga by filmmaker Jonathan Bellés.

As part of the Brooklyn SciFi Film Festival we are celebrating the 70th Anniversary of Godzilla and the creation of Kaiju Eiga genre of films characterized by giant monsters and popularized in Japanese science fiction films. Brooklyn SciFi is planning several events including a Kaiju Monster panel and online screening of the documentary The Dawn of Kaiju Eiga.

The Godzilla / Kaiju monster panel is a moderated discussion of the impact Godzilla and Kaiju has had on modern cinema (specifically SciFi), pop culture, and how it has influenced participants on the panel. We will also broaden the discussion to other cinematic monsters that influenced the panelist in their work. We will record approximately one hour of discussion to be edited to 30 / 45 minute format and streamed during the festival on Thursday Oct 17th at
